What Junction reads

  • Your browser location (if you grant permission) — used to show you local content.
  • Your IP address (if browser permission is denied) — used for city-level geolocation, then discarded.
  • Your email (only if you sign up for the newsletter or coverage notifications) — used to send you what you signed up for.

What Junction does NOT do

  • We do not track you across other websites.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not sell or rent your email or location.
  • We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
  • We do not require an account to read the site.

How to clear Junction from your browser

Junction stores your detected location in your browser's localStorage under the key junction.location. Clear your browser's site data, or click the location chip → manually input → clear, and Junction forgets you.

Newsletter emails are stored in our database. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Cookies

Junction does not set tracking cookies. It does set a single functional localStorage entry (your location). No third-party cookies are loaded.

QR scans

When you scan a Junction QR code, we log: scan timestamp, hashed IP (one-way, not reversible to your actual IP), user agent, and referrer. This is used by businesses to measure the effectiveness of their QRs. We do not link QR scans to newsletter emails or any other identifying data.
